So the word is out that Scotland’s acclaimed soulful singer and rousing songwriter, Joseph Malik, has an exciting new album on the way and "Adult Contemporary" is the first single to be unleashed.

Joseph still sounds as amazing as ever with his smooth falsetto vocals and impactful lyrics, delivered with compassion and an edge of vulnerability about the performance, as the song remembers those who were affected by the AIDS epidemic in the early '80s, yet the lyrics still relatable to any of us humans facing difficulty and judgement. Yet the track itself is far from miserable, set to a discofied funky groove loaded with dramatic sweeping strings, catchy brass stabs, and divine keyboard wizardry from Darren Morris, it really is quite a composition to be marvelled.

There is also a fabulous video to accompany the release which features Joseph on the dance floor at a club as DJ Natasha Kitty Kat makes a cameo appearance on the decks.
