MT Jones: In My Arms

There’s no doubt about it MT Jones has a gilt-edged soulful voice that has a real spark and sees our young, promising soul rebel releasing single #2.

‘‘In My Arms" starts promisingly enough with some great cooing falsetto and the warmly drenched in reverb production is a dream, especially on his mellifluous guitar playing. Nice to hear a tune that has space and the bass line that darts in between the conga-led groove is simply marvellous.

The one thing it is missing though is a strong hook. The tune has a great intro and a nice extended coda but not enough to latch onto. His last single "Feeling Lonely" had a killer chorus and a touch of magic.

Suffice to say, Jones is a talent though, with a rock-solid production behind him. And I’m intrigued as to what he’ll get up to next because he has the voice to go a long way or maybe to find a niche like, Eli ‘Paper Boy’ Reed.
