Sax player Tim Garland and pianist Jason Rebello, two of the most respected jazz musicians here in the UK join forces as a full throttle dynamic duo and the results are mightily impressive.

Opener, ‘Two To Go’ Is a strident and forthright statement with a strong left hand groove grounding it in granite as the two titans interlock fiercely giving way to the sparse and evocative ’Soul Resonance’.

It's a bittersweet piece that lingers between sound and space and makes me think that it would make the perfect eulogy to the dearly departed Jeff Beck. This Morning’ carries on with similar inner articulation showing us the exquisite prowess of both performance and composition. There is alchemical synergy going on showing us that the continuity between two states of mind is where our existence manifests. This is a heavenly pairing and Rebello and Garland have a fluid, agile ability to shift between styles and influences without missing a heartbeat. This is joy to the ears when feeling, melody and intricacy meld together. The Folk song ’Black Is The Colour’ gets a radical treatment as it goes deep into the waters of the original and comes up with bounteous pearls.Time sits flush with these two brethren in gentle resolve, ending the record with an embrace. This is unequivocally a touch of class.
