Founded in 1977 by Clarence Avant, Tabu Records defined an era in R&B which ran from the late 1970s well into the ’90s - it gave the world hugely successful acts like Alexander O’Neal, Cherrelle, the S.O.S. Band and Brainstorm, whilst nurturing the powerhouse production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis – one of the most successful production teams of the last thirty years.

Now care of the Demon Music Group, a comprehensive deluxe re-issue campaign of the whole label will continue throughout 2013 and into 2014 - this will incorporate digital and expanded CD versions of all the key Tabu releases, alongside selected, highly collectable 12-inch and vinyl editions of the label’s signature hitsâ€Â¦.VERY nice!

We have been lucky enough to be given the first 4 Tabu Records re-issues: Alexander O’Neal’s self-titled debut album (1985), the S.O.S. Band’s third album for the label, “III” (1982), Cherrelle’s ground-breaking debut album, "Fragile" (1984) and Brainstorm’s “Stormin’” was Tabu’s flagship release in 1977. All expanded for your listening pleasure.
