"Lil' Wayne and label mates unleash a collaborative record" would be one way of describing this. Another way would be "Lil Wayne and label mates release a compilation album because it’s easier and cheaper than everyone releasing solo records which may flop".
Lil Wayne and Drake are the two big names on this release, alongside the lesser known MC Nicki Minaj, Jae Millz, Lil Chuckee, Lil Twist, T-Streets, Gudda Gudda, Tyga, Shanell and Mack Maine. There are some great moments on the album but it won’t please everyone.
The heavier rap tracks such as ‘She is Gone,’ ‘Streets is Watching’ and ‘Roger That’ don’t sit comfortably alongside the chart friendly R&B sound on ‘Every girl in the world’ and ‘Ms Parker’, both of which are drowned in auto-tune, almost as much as Lil Wayne’s ‘Prom Queen’. The current single ‘Bedrock’ with its cheesy line “Call me Mr. Flintstone, I can make your bed rock,” isn’t going to do the credibility of this album any good either.
