Well this is quite a departure from this magnificent Australian Funk band. This one falls more in the Northern Soul/ 60’s Soul area currently being covered by ‘Sharon Jones And The Dapkings’...

Although there are a few punchy Funk tracks on here for their regular following, this will probably see them open out in to a much bigger market (which was probably the idea).

The band leader and producer Lance Ferguson knows his music well and all styles have been covered with accuracy and conviction. Slightly out of place (but my favourite track on the album) is an incredible mid-to-late 70’s sounding Leroy Hutson-style Soul track called ‘Move On’ with the fantastic featured vocalist Paul MacInnes.

I just hope that this dancefloor dynamite doesn’t get overlooked by the Soul scene. Although perhaps a little overly-diverse for narrow minded (there is a Rap track on it too, with Ty) I think it’s their best album to date.

It’s quite an achievement for a night to last five years in the volatile and competitive world of Central London clubbing. It’s even more impressive when it doesn’t sell out musically in order to achieve such a status.
