Buena Vista Social Club: At Carnegie Hall

There’s nothing much more can be written about this group and project than hasn’t already been written...

In some ways this unbelievably special project became less so because of the over-exposure. One forgets how unique this actually is. What I didn’t realize was that they only ever played three concerts – two in Amsterdam and this beautifully captured one at the worlds most famous and prestigious venues.

They never performed together again due to age-related ill health or death and due to relationships between the US and Cuba going further down hill a few years later it is unlikely that (hypothetically speaking) nothing like this could ever happen again. Along with the DVD, we’ll always have this as a reminder of just how unique and special ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ were. Atimely release.
