It’s business as usual for record breaking Mariah Carey with the new album E=mc2.

Her first single from the album ‘Touch My Body’ proved to be her 18th Number one, overtaking Elvis in the process and moving her into second place in the all time number one’s list behind the Beatles.

The second single released from the album looks to be the ballad ‘Bye, Bye’. The production on this track is first class via the Stargate boys, who surely must be in line for a second release from the album with the infectious (and my personal favourite) 'I'm That Chick'.

At first look the album itself looks to be shorter than usual on ballady type of material that is often associated, and so distinctly handled by the diva. But Mariah fans don’t despair just yet, as the rest of the album pretty much delivers on all fronts. Carey is firmly in her comfort zone with this album and in typical Mariah style the listener is left content as she delivers deft vocals to confirm her position as number one in the R&B diva charts.

Tracks that stood out for me include the super catchy ‘O.O.C’ and ‘I’m That Chick’. Also the delicious ’For The Record’ and ‘I’ll Be Lovin’U Long Time’. And a special mention for the impressively atmospheric last song on the album ‘I Wish You Well’, which puts the cherry on the top of this extravagant treat.

So whether it’s a romantic liaison, chillin with friends or even a little downtime on your own, this multifaceted album should please all moods. As Mariah delivers (funnily enough) the Mariah way.
