The third album from Joey Negro’s Sunburst Band sees the same script followed pretty closely as the previous two with a range of styles covered across the CD.

As before the common denominator is the live instrumentation with superb musicianship from the likes of Michele Chiarvoni and Tony Remy on offer. IF that aint enough then check out the vocalists with Sunburst regulars Taka Boom and Pete Simpson being joined by Yolanda Wyns and Salsoul legend Leroy Burgess.

The album features 17 tracks which by today’s standards is a hefty offering, with the standouts being the Motown influenced ‘Days Gone By’, a cover of Ashford & Simpson’s ‘Rough Times’ and my personal favourite ‘Our Lives Are Shaped’. With funk influences aplenty the album might not be to everyone’s tastes, but if previous Sunburst Band tracks have floated your boat then you should set sail for this one.
