I suppose that this is the future of independent selling – through websites only, but it’s well worth taking the moment to click on.

Cornwall-born Angilley has long been one the UK’s best-kept secrets in the Jazz world. Everyone knows him and he’s the hardest working musician in the industry, so maybe that’s why he’s taken so long to put out his debut album?

I’ll put my cards on the table: the musician line-up is basically the rhythm section from my band, but I wouldn’t review this if I didn’t like it I PROMISE. But folks, this is nothing short of spectacular and even better than I’d hoped for. Reminiscent, at times, of the great works of Michel Camillo and Chick Corea, this brazillian-fusion trio album is world class and is a very fulfilling listen. Despite the latin influence, there’s nothing here for the dancefloor, but does there have to be? I won’t highlight any particular title as they’re all great, so, as I say: just take a moment to check it out.

It’s quite an achievement for a night to last five years in the volatile and competitive world of Central London clubbing. It’s even more impressive when it doesn’t sell out musically in order to achieve such a status.
