This album oozes quality from first note to the last sumptuous drop as Angela Johnson proves that she is indeed multi-talented and multi-skilled.
Who knows Angela Johnson best?... Why Angela Johnson of course!! As this singer/multi artist producer and horn arranger showcases her expanding skills with an impressive line-up of today's independent soul vocalists (including Frank McComb, Eric Roberson, Rahsaan Patterson, Maysa Leak, Julie Dexter and Take 6's Claude McKnight)
Johnson has come a long way since her lead vocalist days in 'Cooly's Hot Box' (1992), to produce her third studio Album with such distinction. Stand out tracks include the infectious 'Dream Flight' and 'Waiting on A maybe', stand out strong vocal from Eric Robinson on 'Should've Been There,' the funked up Doobie esc 'Play' and 'That's Just The Way.' Also the tracks 'Cryin Over U and my personal favourite 'More Than You Ever Know' wouldn't feel out of place on any high echelon soul album with whispers of dare I say it "Anita Baker."
This album is a real Jewel in the crown of soul and funk and is a great advert for independent labels. Play it with the volume up and the windows open as lazy days will never be the same.
