Although it may well fall slightly outside of the sort of thing that turns the kids on, the fact that this is a very faithful rendering of the Sam Cooke evergreen will certainly spark the interest of more mature and committed soul fans. Added appeal will come from the fact that the main vocal is by none other than Junior Giscombe, one of those guys who gets you wondering what he’s been doing for the past two decades or so, as it feels like at least 1987 since we last heard from him. No great surprises, as this is a very straightforward cover, set to win the approval of the faithful.
