UB40 the irrefutable and undisputed kings of reggae are back and back with a bang. It's been over a whopping 35-years since the original "Baggariddim" album was released, so here it is the follow-up...

An album of reggae collaborations with artists spanning four continents and seven decades of recording experience, featuring House of Shem, Tippa Irie, BLVK H3RO, Inner Circle, Pablo Rider, KIOKO, Gilly G, Slinger, Winston Francis, Leno Banton and General Zooz. One thing that is characteristic of all the tunes is the melodic singing and the natural freestyle delivery across the riddims. "Good Vibes Tonight"/"House of Shem" is the perfect opener to get the feel and vibe of this album and Tippa Irie's "On The Road" too makes for a classic cut as it welcomes him back into the fold.

Heavyweights Inner Circle are a group with their own well preserved and deserved reputation, cut a dash with their bluesy "Rebel Love" replete with Stax like horns giving us another solid tune and one fans won't want to miss."You Don't Call Anymore" by Kioko adds a further soulful edge as does Gilly G takes the tune elsewhere mystically, as does Leno Banton on the fast yet dubby "Show And Prove" - as he yet again proves to be top, top mic man with a great flow to boot.

All in all, UB4O are able to maintain their excitement throughout this sterling platter and have honed their craft exceptionally well, which has long become their trademark. When you have to sum up this collection of tunes/various artists collection, then all you'll have to say is that it's all about presenting very soulful reggae sounds with great skill.

Essentially the kind of thing you'd expect from a band with such legendary status. UB40 have returned in fine, royal reggae style, catch them on their forthcoming tour which kicks off this November.
