UK release date 03.07.2020

London eight-piece funk and soul outfit Crowd Company have just dropped their delightful instrumental, “Express 76” on 45 RPM, due to popular demand and having started life as digital-only.

It's an absolute peach of a tune and will no doubt be snapped up by eager DJs and lovers of this evergreen genre. The horn line is absolutely riveting and hooky. Special guests Ryan Zodias and Eric Bloom, from the revered US funk band Lettuce, are responsible for this peach of a tune. It's all driven by Claudio Corona's scorching Hammond and produced by Alan Evans (Soulive/Ae3) in Millers Falls, USA.

Alan's band Ae3 is on the alternative A side too, with the cool and sassy "Black Rider" which sounds like a late lost '60s Psychedelic funk classic. This heavy trio get fleshed out by a punchy horn section and an excellent vocal delivery from the main man himself, Alan Evans! This is deep down and dirty funk-rock at its best and compliment's Crowd Company's soul-jazz dancefloor killer too perfection. Two cracking tracks for the price of one! Why don't more labels, like VLM, do this? Grab it while you can!
