Judith Hill is making great strides with each release and "Upside", true to form, reaches that raw grittiness few can touch...unless you happen to be in the same league as some of the soul/r&b best-known voices - Hill has that same visceral intensity.

It's the perfect vehicle for her sassy voice. A sparse and catchy hard hitting modern sound with crisp guitars riffs and punchy horn stabs. A cool 60's swagger pervades and in turn musters plenty of energy. There's some mighty fine pep in her step as she implores you to dig a bit deeper within her sounds and sample her funk-infused wares! Simply, it's pop-funk at its very finest.

It's a real shame his purpleness isn't around to hear this tune because he may well have clicked his heels and squealed with delight, such is fresh nature of this standout cut. Judith continues to ascend the hill of star potential and I for one, hope she gets to the promised land.
