Da Lata are back after a three year hiatus with a new seductive single entitled "Dakar". A homage, no doubt, to the senegalese capital...a thriving, bustling place where you can spend your days browsing frenetic markets, enjoying the peaceful islands just off shore or get involved with the whirling nightlife dancing to mbalax beats.

Funnily enough, this has more of an Eithio Jazz feel to it. Rest assured, this is a gorgeous slice of instrumental moody latin blessedness adorned with robust baritone sax, dancing flute, and choice wurlitzer which create fantastic heady mix with heaps of style.

It's a warm organic piece too and driven by well tempered percussion - even the synth parts fit its innate naturalness. A deeply alluring track with several nuances that sway like the evening sunset giving way to the night. This is a fascinating introduction to the new forthcoming album. Da Lata are far more than a vehicle for virtuosity, they have a richness of sound that is all embracing. This tune is well worth a listen and more of a bonus, you get a peek into their secret, enticing world.
