Oscar Jerome's new single reminds of one of those Russian nesting dolls (small dolls inside bigger dolls and so on...) it's multilayered, that's what I'm trying to say.

Usually, on an artist's single you think, 'where's the hook?' And I thought, meh, nothing shaking here. But, then on reflection - after a few more listens - as the strange guitar sounds pull you in...you begin to realise the whole goddam song is one giant hook!

The soft falsetto flurries pull you into Oscar's secret world, the almost Soul ll Soul groove - albeit wholly organic - keep your ears pricked and the unusual chord structures just plain reel you in.

I've seen him live at this year at both Love Supreme at the Roundhouse and Love Supreme festival in Glynde and I have to say his swagger resonates and matches his aqueous soul edged talent, this guy's just brimming with emotionally intelligent lyrics and sheer musicality. And If what he has produced so far is anything to go by, Jerome will be making a big impact in the not too distant future... watch this space.
