"The Last Shade of Blue Before Black" features Steve Cropper and “Blue Lou” Marini from the movie and with a host of special guests, including Eddie Floyd, Dr. John and the late Matt “Guitar” Murphy.

From the fabulous horn intro of "Baby, What You Want Me To Do" onwards this latest offering from Steve Cropper and his band oozes class. Stealing the show is Eddie Floyd with his super smooth "On A Saturday Night" and Bobby 'Sweet Soul' Harden on his high energy "Itch and Scratch".

Recorded live in the studio with minimal overdubs it gives you a feel of just how good these guys are live. This is a good time record. If you only buy one blues album this year you can’t go wrong with this one.
