Brooklyn Funk Essentials revisit their extensive past and reinterpret one of their stone cold club classics "Where Love Lives" dipping into their influences from funk to neo-soul to great effect.

It's a radically different tale but we live in different times and the earthy, organic approach works wonders. Spurred on no doubt by the imperious rhythm section cutting a bone deep groove with a self-assured swagger bolstered by spry horns and led by the enduring Alison Limerick whose vocals add even further gravitas to the original.

I'ts rare in the music industry to hear of a band who are still making a career and thriving musically after 25 odd years. Even though they are approaching three decades of releasing soulful house and funk-infused tracks, BFE are still showcasing their relevance in the music scene today.Check out their gig later in the month at the Jazz Cafe London and join in the joyful throng this band bring.
