David Dower is a London-based jazz pianist and composer. Australian born, and a recent student at the highly regarded West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Matt Fisher is an up and coming drummer/ percussionist and a member (of free jazzers) Entropi, together they have created this musical potpourri with dazzling effect.A piece of startling maturity filled with masterly musicianship. There is plenty of colourful emotion on offer too.

Their ever widening appeal testifies that the modern mainstream will absolutely get their music.A broad palettte across different styles is arguably their firmest compositional tool. From propulsive, urgent, uplifting string filled anthems('Big Balloons','Go to Sleep) to brooding, melancholically conscientious meditations, they use a rich palette of percussive mood and feeling with a distinct streak of confident humour.

Dower like any improviser is working from a vocabulary - an arsenal of licks and phrases, choice chord voicings, and harmonic skills available in a second but what makes a memorable and an essential player? The man has lovingly formulated a vocabulary that goes well beyond just imitation, making his playing instantly recognizable without sounding contrived or prosaic.
As regards his classical edge He has clearly been influenced by the French impressionist composers and has to be a fan of Chopin and Debussy! Refreshing sounds from a talented new outfit esential listening in my book!
