It's 2012, and Prince is back a new single- Hallelujah! “I like it when you dance because it gets me hot. I like when you shake everything you’ve got. I like when you dance because its so sexy. I like it when you dance for me.” If there was ever a song to make you want to go buy a stripper pole and swing around it to dance for Prince Rogers Nelson this may just be it!

Clearly prince shows no sign of slowing down, and this slice of electronic funk is classic Prince; its funky, nasty, left side of pop, but completely accessible to be played in any club. A master of doing things to keep us intrigued Prince has altered the tone of his voice, however his musical swag is still instantly recognisable. The new single due for release 23rd January boasts 5 different club mixes too, courtesy of music heavyweights like Jamie Lewis, Brian Matrix and David Alexander.

Besides the butt spanking original I particularly enjoyed the David Alexander and Tribal Drum mixes. Why? Well, the dark beats of the tribal mix take you back to the dance floors of the mid to late 90s when the tribal genre was at its height. This darkness against Prince’s descriptions and commands, and an intermittent female gasp provide an interesting combination; listen out for the percussions near the end too. Similarly the David Alexander 'Icon Remix' should be a dance floor smash and pumped out in all serious dance halls. Extremely infectious, it constantly has you on the edge of going completely insane on the dance floor. That’s not to say the other mixes won’t get you moving too, I am pretty sure there is something for all danceheads out there.

Will this be one of Prince’s most memorable songs? I doubt it, but will it remind you of what a genius Prince is. This track gets the ‘Sweet Boy’ recommendation- get it!
