“I’m Dat Chick” has lyrics such as “I’m so fly, I’m so fly”, well we all know that! This confident, multi-talented woman and artist return to the music scene with her third album “Here I Am.” Kelly Rowland’s strong vocals shine through, with beat heavy production that will surely top the charts.
Never to have really been a massive fan of Kelly Rowland apart from her amazing days with Destiny’s Child, “Here I Am” is something Kelly should be proud of. “Work It Man” is an unusual R&B title coming from a female artist, but just as catchy as “I’m Dat Chick." And then the collaboration of all collaborations; Kelly Rowland featuring Lil’ Wayne on “Motivation”, which is a personal highlight from the album because the two are an unlikely pair.
The next stand out track is “Turn It Up,” not quite sure what the message here in this song is about other than it is very uplifting in sound and captivating to the ears. There is nothing for the mind, perhaps body, and soul with this album such as your Erykah Badu’s and Anthony Hamilton’s but Kelly Rowland is becoming a force to be reckoned with. Besides her cheesy milk adverts that are being plastered all over busses and bus stops she could very well be the new Cheryl Cole, in that she is being greatly promoted across London. Not only that but as well all know she is the new face and judge of the X-Factor in the UK. Which is not only raising her bank balance but also possibly drawing in new fans to check out her music.
