Previously boasting more than it’s fair share of true jazz/soul and blues greats, this year’s Cheltenham Jazz Festival takes place May 5-12 and as usual, heralds the start of the festival season in style. This year is no different, already boasting an impressive first wave of artists, recently announced.

They including Bossa nova legend João Gilberto’s daughter, Bebel Gilberto, a multi-Grammy nominated artist who’s abundance of talent has set the Latin music world on fire. Afro-beat’s finest Amadou and Mariam will be bringing their distinct sound to Cheltenham and Gospel greats The Blind Boys of Alabama will also be in unmissable action. Look out for the full festival lineup, which is announced on Feb 12 but be quick, most of the shows at this event usually sell out well in advance.
