Cheltenham Jazz Festival announce exciting headliners
Year in, year out, Cheltenham Jazz festival - taking place 1-6 May 2019 - always boasts a formidable array of jazz/blues/soul talent. Already, 2019’s announcements are looking impressive as Grammy winning king of cool and jazz icon in the making, Gregory Porter will be in action in Henry Winston’s Big Top on Saturday evening, May 4. Earlier that day, in the same venue and equally Grammy laden…multi-award winner/Latin master, Sergio Mendes, takes to the stage for what promises to be a very special show.
Only 2 other acts have been announced at the time of collating this news, and they are just as tantalising as those already mentioned. Sax hero Joshua Redman plays Cheltenham Town Hall on the same evening and at the same time as Porter entertains at the Big Top and completing this quadruple helping of quality shows, genre-defying Cheltenham newbies, The Bad Plus, provide unmissable entertainment the day after, on Sunday, May 5.
