UB40 announce 40th Anniversary show
Formed in 1078, Birmingham's long-serving stalwarts of soulful reggae, UB40, may have had their ups and down - putting it mildly - but there's one thing that has remained constant...their undeniable 24 karat hits catalogue, matched with diamond encrusted live credentials.
Bringing both those attributes together, UB40 will perform at London's Royal Albert Hall on Monday, June 25th as they celebrate not only 40 years since they became one of the UK's best-loved bands, but also the release of their brand new studio album.
If you break down the UB40 figures with over 100 million records sold and 40 hits in the UK singles chart, it works out that UB40's albums have stayed in the Top 75 of the UK chart for a combined period of 11 years! WOW!
Hits on the night will include; "Kingston Town", "Don’t Break My Heart", "One In Ten", "I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You", "Sing Our Own Song", "Food For Thought" and washing down proceedings nicely, "Red, Red Wine" to name but few. And, as mentioned, there will be a plethora of new tunes to be heard from their impending long player - due for release before the show, in May.
You have to agree with UB40 co-vocalist/guitarist Robin Campbell who says the “40th-anniversary concert at The Royal Albert Hall will be a bit special" and I would add, not one to be missed either!
UB40 ESSENTIALS:
UB40 feature five of the six founding members; Robin Campbell, Brian Travers, Jimmy Brown, Earl Falconer and Norman Hassan, and long-time members Duncan Campbell, Martin Meredith, Lawrence Parry and Tony Mullings.
Pre-sale for UB40’s 40th-anniversary show at The Royal Albert Hall begins at 9.00am on Wednesday, November 15th.
Tickets go on general sale at 9.00am on Friday, 17th November.
