Prince announces two brand new albums

The Purple One has announced the release of not one, but two brand new albums on Warner Bros. Records – both due for release on 29th September.

The very same label he battled with over the rights to his music a few years ago; daubing "SLAVE" across his face in protest after failing to gain ownership. But they have kissed and made up now he has the rights back to his work.

Prince is due to release solo album, "Art Official Age" on the label he was signed to from 1978 to the mid-1990s. They did a deal back in April about the ownership of the music he recorded on that label, which included "Purple Rain," ''1999," "Around the World in a Day," ''Diamonds and Pearls," “Dirty Mind” and “Sign ‘O’ the Times.”

"Art Official Age" is described as a classic Prince album, produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince and Joshua Welton (@joshuaworld). “Sonically the record is a contemporary concoction of soul, R&B and funk. The melodies are immediate and prominent as ever and Prince’s vocals are rich and solid, taking full advantage of his vocal range with decidedly, seductive lyrics.” His first album since 2010's "20Ten."

He will also drop "PlectrumElectrum," with his all-female band 3RDEYEGIRL on Sept. 29th, a “classic band record,” 3RDEYEGIRL is Prince, Donna Grantis (guitar), Hannah Ford Welton (drums) and Ida Nielsen (bass). Recorded live and in analogue, the album is said to be “an electrifying funk-rock statement,” recorded on the ‘Hit & Run’ tours of the UK and Europe earlier this year. Both albums can be pre-ordered now.
