TRIBUTE TO THE GODFATHER
Soulpower and the Jazz Cafe present the James Brown Tribute on Thursday March 29 at the Jazz Cafe in Camden and will feature Marva Whitney (My ThingÂ, Unwind Yourself and her latest release I Am What I AmÂ) and Sweet Charles (Sherrell) the former musical director of the James Brown Show and bass player on hits Say It Loud (I'm Black And I'm Proud and PaybackÂ) together with UK soulster Noel McKoy and London's very own Push plus surprise guests.
All artists will perform classic James Brown hits whilst before and after the show, Jazz cafe's resident DJ Perry Louis and Soulpower DJ Pari (who toured with James Brown in Europe and the US) will deliver some rare JB treats.
Tickets are £17.50 in advance (0870 060 3777) and £20 door.
