Pointer Sisters & The Sugarhill Gang For UK's Rewind Festival
"Rewind The 80s" Music Festival in Henley-on-Thames returns for a fifth successive year from Friday 16th August to Sunday 18th August 2013 in the beautiful riverside setting of Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames.
Having sold out in advance in 2011 & 2012, attracting 40,000 festival-goers, this year's star-studded, 24 artist line-up at "Rewind The 80s", includes a UK exclusive festival appearance from the legendary US R&B divas The Pointer Sisters on Sunday 18th August.
The Sugarhill Gang appear on day two. American pop group The B-52’s also perform on Saturday 17th August, as a UK festival exclusive. Billy Ocean, Aswad and Imagination feat. Leee John are also on the eclectic retro bill - held the same weekend as the V Festival on sites at Chelmsford and Stafford; the line-up for that is due to be announed on 25th Feb.
This year's Rewind Festival in Henley will showcase another massive line-up of iconic 80s recording artists including Kim Wilde, ABC, Belinda Carlisle, Nik Kershaw, Blancmange, Sonia, The Blow Monkeys, Cutting Crew, Heaven 17, The Sugarhill Gang, Then Jerico, Billy Ocean, Go West, Paul Carrack, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, The Flying Pickets, Matt Bianco, Aswad, Imagination featuring Leee John, plus many more to be announced.
In addition to Silent Discos, Live Karaoke bars, and various Camping options, new to the festival this year will be “Snoozebox†- a revolutionary portable, transportable and temporary on-site hotel which is the brainchild of ex-Formula 1 racing driver, David Coulthard.
Originally launched in Henley-on-Thames in 2009, Rewind The 80s Music Festival includes the biggest line-up of 80s artists in the world. In its four years, Rewind has played host to 80s icons including Holly Johnson, The Human League, Gloria Gaynor, Kool & The Gang, Boy George, Village People, Bananarama, and many more.
