Standon Calling is errr... calling
The king of the boutique festivals is due upon us from the 3rd to the 5th of August. Just 30 miles out of London, Standon Calling offers the goer fresh air countryside and great music. Fat Freddy's drop and Beardyman headline this years revelry for starters!
It began with just 25 people, one set of decks and a BBQ. Now, it's Britain's most authentic independent festival. Standon Calling is a three-day themed fancy dress party. Secret places reveal themselves at midnight and there's an on-site nightclub. The mansion's swimming pool is open to the public too. V.V Brown and Paloma Faith, Femi Kuti and Chromehoof have been past participants and they'll be plenty more emerging stars this year as well. Half of 2009's Mercury Awards nominees have played at Standon.
