Bobby Womack to play Lovebox
Soul God Bobby Womack is due in for one UK show in June. The vocal and guitar legend plays the Lovebox 2012 Festival in London’s Victoria Park on 16th June.
The festival staged on 15th – 17th June, an earlier than usual weekend this year, has a cracking line-up on day two of the three-day event. Womack is joined on the bill by hot property and Brit winner Emile Sande, Kelis and New York rapper Azealia Banks.
Swedish electronic band, Little Dragon. Soul, disco and deep house electronica band Crazy P (they abbreviated their original moniker of Penis in 2008!) also appear.
As does London Elektricity - the stage name of DJ and electronic musician Tony Colman. He has five albums to his name, is an international DJ and was a member of drum and bass act London Elektricity Live.
22-year-old Fred Vahrman, more widely recognised as Fred V, is one of the up and coming drum’n’bass producers. Fred’s music has already gained regular support from leading DJ’s including Grooverider (BBC radio 1), Nerm and D:Code (BBC radio 1/asian network), and Crissy Criss (BBC 1xtra) and with track’s and remixes on labels like talkin’ beatz, ape music, all street recordings and bassdrive tunes. Fred is making a name for himself in the right places. A series of hot gigs across the southwest also earned him a nomination as ‘best southwest DJ’ at the southwest drum’n’bass awards. He is joined at Lovebox by Grafix.
Drum & bass DJ/producer and musician, Danny Byrd will be on stage on the second day too. Along with Prototypes, David Rodigan, S.P.Y, Gerd Janson, Nu:Tone, Damian Lazarus, Logistics, Maceo Plex, Art Department, Dixon, Robert James, Camo & Krooked, High Contrast, Netsky, Prosumer, Amirali, Joy Orbison, MC Wrec, and Dynamite MC.
The headline on the Saturday is Friendly Fires. Hot Chip on Friday and Holly Johnson on the Sunday. Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, will appear on the Sunday too, and Canada’s hot property well worth checking out, Azari & 111.
Friday's line-up features Hot Chip, Crystal Castles, Magnetic Man, Sub Focus, Skream, Madeon, 2 Bears, P Money, Marcus Nasty, Trim, N-Type, Plastician, Shy FX, Stamina MC, Rusko, Breakage, Toddla T, Youngman, The Heatwave, Ben UFO, Pearson Sound, Pangaea, Zinc, Boy Better Know, Roska, and Brackles.

Sunday sees Holly Johnson topping a bill that includes Azari & III, Tyson, The Golden Filter, Ronika, Niki & The Dove, Patrick Wolf, The Rapture, Horse Meat Disco, DJ Hell, Ivan Smagghe, Gutter Slut DJs, Per QX, Nic Fisher, Ralf, Miss Crystal MC, Trailer Trash DJs, Hannah Holland, Mikki Most, Jonny Woo, Dalston Superstore, Jim Stanton & James Hillard, Luke Howard, Severino, Andrew Weatherall, Optimo, Tim Sweeney, Jodie Harsh, JoshYouAre, Tiga, and Kris Di Angelis.

Lovebox can offer a deposit scheme on 2 Day and 3 Day tickets. Purchasers can pay half and then the balance any time up to the 1st May.
Three day weekend ticket are £99, Saturday & Sunday two day ticket is £87.50, Friday & Saturday two day ticket is £65. A Friday only day ticket is £29, and Saturday or Sunday only day tickets are £49 each day.

Lovebox are celebrating “a decade of love†by bringing some past favourites back to the 10 stages across the 40 acre parkland. There are more acts to announce. www.lovebox.net
STOP PRESS.............Grace Jones and Mika have been added to the superb Lovebox 2012 lineup. Felix Da Housecat is a new addition too. Grace will close the festival on the Sunday, making a return after her stunning set there in 2010.
2012 headliners are Grace Jones, Hot Chip and Friendly Fires. Lana Del Ray will make an apparance on Sunday - with Grace and Holly Johnson.
