Robert Dickey R.I.P.

Robert Dickey, guitarist and singer in the backing group that recorded "I'm Your Puppet," with James and Bobby Purify, has died.

The 72-year-old died in his home town of Tallahassee on Dec. 29. No cause of death was given. He began his career in the '60s, and played on the 1966 Top Ten global hit, "I'm Your Puppet." He was also on the duo’s hit "Shake Your Tail Feather."

Dickey had been back in Tallahassee since 1972, where he was a city maintenance supervisor, while singing and playing guitar in church, and a member of the Bethlehem Male Singers.
