Mick Hucknall to front The Faces reunion gig at Vintage Festival
Exciting news!! 1970s 'supergroup' The Faces look set to reform this summer... "But you don't cover The Faces" you say. But we do when the lead singer is none other than Simply Red's Mick Hucknall. This exciting happening will be at the Vintage at Goodwood Festival this August 13....
The reformed Faces will feature original members Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan, plus Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), and vocals from Mick Hucknall (of Simply Red). When the group got together to receive a lifetime achievement award at the PRS Awards last year Hucknall, Paul Carrack, and Andy Fairweather Low featured as guest vocalists on that night. This has since proved a trigger to form a reunion with Hucknall once more at the helm. So why not indeed...
At this years Vintage festival The Faces will perform hits like ‘Stay with me’ and ‘Ooh La La’ on the main ‘Inspired By’ Stage, and will be complemented on-site with five clubs each recreating respective decades with unparalleled authenticity including: The Torch Club (1940s); Let It Rock (1950s); The Leisure Dome (1960s); Soul Casino (1970s); and The Warehouse and Roller Disco (1980s). This inspired edition to the festival calendar, will feature world renowned DJs and bands spanning 5 decades - plus the best new contemporary artists whose work owes a debt to these legends and icons.
As previously reported, the Vintage at Goodwood festival will take place 13-15 August and will combine the best of British cool from the 1940s – 1980s ranging: music, fashion, art, design and culture across 240 acres on the Goodwood Estate, and is undoubtedly THE summer must!
