REGGAE STARS PUT STAMP OF ISLAND MAGIC ON DISNEY CLASSICS WITH THE DISNEY REGGAE CLUB

On 8 June 2010 the magic of Disney meets the magical isle of Jamaica, as Walt Disney Records plan to release an album of classic Disney songs newly recorded by a cross-section of top reggae musicians.

The cd features songs from immortal animated films like 'The Little Mermaid' and 'The Jungle Book' through to 'The Lion King' and more, recorded by Grammy award winning reggae artists. These include UB40, Matisyahu, Toots (of Toots & the Maytalsâ fame), Ziggy Marley, Sly & Robbie, Cedella Marley, Burning Spear, among others.

'Circle Of Life' from 'The Lion King' by Matisyahu; 'The Bare Necessities' from 'The Jungle Book' by Steel Pulse; 'Youâve Got A Friend' from 'Toy Story' by UB40, and 'Under The Sea' from 'The Little Mermaid' by Gregory Isaacs, are just a few of the tracks included on this compilation.

"The genius of Disney songs is that theyâre timeless and adaptable to every musical genreâ said executive producer Brian Malouf. âReggae is so joyous and spirited, we knew these songs would lend themselves perfectly. Iâm happy to say the artists, many of them true legends of reggae, all jumped at the chance to participate."
