The evolution of the festival is truly here as Wayne Hemingway's vision 'Vintage at Goodwood' looks set to be separate the soul-boys from the un-men-tionables!?

All those present on the 13th, 14th and 15th of August will witness first hand, the part both fashion and the music have played in making Britain the greatest place to grow up, in the world. With that in mind, the partial line-up we're about to disclose reflects just that fact, as Mr Hemingway has brought together a veritable smoregageboard of musical delights that will fill the most ravenous of festival appetites. Which leads us in-turn to announce "the festival bar has officially been raised!"

There is an up-to-date list below of those live acts and Dj's participating at this years Vintage at Goodwood Festival... This list includes live action from Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Noisettes, Noel McKoy, Joe Battan, The Beat, Geno Washington, Leroy Hutson and Rox amongst others. And if that wasn't enough, just scratch the Dj'ing surface there's a real who's who of stella Dj's including: Richard Searle, Danny Rampling, Colin Curtis, Jay Strongman, Norman Jay, Eddie Piller, Chris Hill, Jazzie B, Greg Wilson and Joey Negro.

To sum up each day's themed intentions; I think this time we'll leave it to the Vintage organisers, as we repeat their intended vision for this outstanding weekend verbatim...

PUNKY REGGAE PARTY (Friday afternoon)
It’s mid ‘70s Thatcher-powered Jubilee-celebrating Britain! But down in the basement of the Roxy Club in Neal Street, Covent Garden, Don Letts , The Buzzcocks et al really did make reggae and punk inseparable… Two Sevens really did Clash Three chord guitars meet relentless dub echo, toasters rap and safety-pinned bedroom dramas co-exist – London’s Calling !

VINTAGE WITH STRINGS (Friday evening)
Adding layers of lush strings and a stylish sting of brass . Mix well and transform a gorgeous song into an anthem. With The Heritage Orchestra providing the backdrop, Vintage brings you Northern Soul like never before, a line of iconic female vocalists reclaiming songs sung by men that should’ve been sung by women and hook-laden hits given sweet, soulful depth.

ZOOT SUIT FEVER (Saturday afternoon)
When soul grooves collided with be bop jazz and the pounding of Latin rhythms, the early ‘80s turned up its stylish collar, danced to ‘ Me No Pop I ’, Kid Creole , Was (Not Was) , and The Tom Tom Club, taking disparate sounds and turning them into pop. From the frenetic carnivals of Bristol to the Saturday night Wag Club, the mood is funky finger-popping good for Saturday afternoon.

THANK GOD IT’S SATURDAY (Saturday evening)
All across the nation, each generation had its dancefloor fillers, from blue-eyed soul to exotic funk-filled shape-throwers. Pay packet-powered Saturday nights in Britain were always alright for dancing, from disco to rave , let that bass move your body, get on the scene. Get on up and dance to the music. It’s Chaka , Chic , Shalamar , The Crown Heights Affair , Kleeer . One Nation Under A Groove ,feeling the love…

GUILTY PLEASURES (Sunday Afternoon)
In the ‘70s, rock ‘n’ roll turned into glam and symphonic prog became pop. The radio brought us hit after hit by AOR legends and faceless British soul searchers, records we hid away for first dates or last calls. The perfect soundtrack for a Sunday afternoon, with every song written just for you. Oh Lori , Rosanna and Mandy , fly me . Maneaters every one.

FUTURAMA (Sunday Evening)
To Cut A Long Story Short , The Inspired By Stage closes with a celebration of the 30 th anniversary of Spandau Ballet moving out of Le Beat Route , when Duran Duran realised that This Is Planet Earth and Depeche Mode escaped Basildon.

Sparks flew as music embraced the technological electronic possibilities. The late ‘70s futuristic sounds and their fatalistic worldview blossomed into world-taming electronic pop masterpieces during the ‘80s. We didn’t need That Fascist Groove Thing. Men machines walked among us. Pop Muzak’s recent re-awakening was only a matter of time. Drink it in, it’s last orders before Blue Monday .

The .. Inspired By ..Stage full line may be announced before August… then maybe again it won’t

It’s quite an achievement for a night to last five years in the volatile and competitive world of Central London clubbing. It’s even more impressive when it doesn’t sell out musically in order to achieve such a status.
