Friday October 30th************* Hate crime candle-lit vigil in Trafalgar Sq
A Day In Hand calls on all attendees of the silent Candle-lit vigil Against All Hate-Crime - to show the world that this sort of criminal behavior is unacceptable here and to stand shoulder to shoulder to stop this happening again.
This vigil has been organised in response to the death of our good friend Ian Baynham who was attacked and subsequently murdered in an horrific homophobic hate crime in Trafalgar Square recently.
We also remember all those who have suffered and continue to suffer from all forms of hate crime. The Vigil is being organised by the Facebook group 17-24-30 which was set up to mark the 10th Anniversaries of the London Nail Bomb attacks on Brixton, Brick Lane and Soho.
Bars/clubs the immediate area have been asked to hold a 2 minute silence at 9pm, while venues beyond walking distance from Trafalgar are organising shorter vigils outside their premises.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED...
Please come straight to Trafalgar Square for the Vigil between 8pm and 10pm on Friday 30th October. Please do not bring banners and placards - we want to see a sea of candles and faces. Bring non-drip candles. Please NO GLASS.
