Soul Train Award nominations announced

After being absent last year the Soul Train awards return to their former glory on November 29, with a special evening marked to celebrate Motown's 50th birthday. Hosted by Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, it promises to be a star-studded niight.

Beyonce, Maxwell and Keri Hilson lead the pack as far as nominations go with four potential Soul Train trophies each. All three compete for 'Song of the Year' and 'Record of the Year'. Whilst, both Beyonce and Maxwell are also up for Album of the Year with "I am..." and "BLACKsummer'snight". Again Beyonce and Maxwell extend further expectations in Best Female and Male R&B/Soul Artist awards. Keri, receives two other nominations in Best New Artist and Best Collaboration categories.

Other nominated artists include Whitney Houston, Jamie Foxx, Kanye West and Robin Thicke. A special honoree award for 'Entertainer of the Year' will be given to the late, Michael Jackson. Performing on this evening are the like of Ledisi, Chrisette Michele, Toni Braxton, Melanie Fiona and Trey Songz.
