You may remember Youssou N'Dour from the track 'Seven Seconds' in which he dueted with Nena Cherry. A huge international hit in 1994 which remained on the charts, would you believe, for nearly half a year reaching the top three in many countries including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Russia and Poland.

This renowned singer, songwriter and composer and one of the most celebrated African musicians in histor- mixing traditional Senegalese music, with eclectic influences ranging from Cuban samba to hip-hop, jazz and soul, which has won him an international fan base of millions.

In the early 1970s N’Dour was performing regularly with the Star Band, Dakar's most popular group. He then went on to conquer the rest of the world, collaborating with the likes of Wyclef Jean, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel and Tracy Chapman. You may also remember he recently performed at two of the largest live events in history - the 2005 Live8 concerts in the UK and France. We say "Miss at your Peril!"
