In the early 1970s N’Dour was performing regularly with the Star Band, Dakar's most popular group. He then went on to conquer the rest of the world, collaborating with the likes of Wyclef Jean, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel and Tracy Chapman.
