The Cheltenham Jazz festival line-up has been announced and boy does it look tasty. Good job they've got Budvar sponsoring to wash it down! But seriously, a great line-up with a slightly younger vibe putting the cooooool firmly into the festival.

Highlights and events to look out for include, star turn (playing on the last evening) Nigel Kennedy. South African's finest Hugh Masekela. Jazz meets gospel with a very special night including Ruach Mass Choir; guests including Mica Paris, Ian Shaw, Jason Yarde and Alex Wilson. Cool swinger Lea Delaria, piano funny man Joe Stilgoe (pictured), up n'coming Lizzy Parks and Imelda May, actor/trumpter Colin Salmon (look out for Dame Judy Dench in the crowd). Something different with jazz punk rockers Get The Blessing, latin jazz infused Alex Wilson. They were amazing at the Big Chill Portico Quartet (pictured) - playing the Hung AND truly an artist of the moment Madeleine Peyroux (phew!). Just to name a few... As you can see it's going to be a superb festival, with never a dull jazz moment.

Here is a more digestible list of events well worth their gate money... See you there!

It’s quite an achievement for a night to last five years in the volatile and competitive world of Central London clubbing. It’s even more impressive when it doesn’t sell out musically in order to achieve such a status.
