Stevie Wonder Announces European Tour 2008
London, Thursday 5th June, One of Soul music’s most iconic stars, the legendary Stevie Wonder, announced at London’s Hard Rock Café whilst performing an exclusive set, that he is hitting the road for the first time in more than a decade throughout Europe.
The tour kicks off on September 8th at the National Indoor Arena in
Birmingham, and culminates on September 28th at the Bercy in Paris. The tour is being produced by Live Nation and Tickets are available beginning on Friday 13th June at 9am.
His amazing career has earned him 49 top 40 singles, 32 number-one singles. He has received an astounding 25 Grammy Awards. An Academy Award for "I Just Called to Say I Love You," as well the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award plus Billboard's 2004 Century Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, alongside the Rolling Stones. Stevie Wonder was the youngest honouree of the prestigious Kennedy Centre Honours. At the 22nd Kennedy Centre Honours in 1999.
It is Wonder's song writing legacy that has indelibly connected him to the world. From Motown prodigy to groundbreaking innovator, he has always believed in music as a transformational force.
