SAMMY STRAIN SUING O'JAYS, GAMBLE AND HUFF FOR $15 MILLION

In 1977, he replaced deceased singer William Powell in the O'Jays, and remained with them until 1992, recording 11 albums - three gold and two platinum - with the O'Jays over 16 years.

In 2004, Levert and Williams filed their own multi-million dollar royalties claim against Philadelphia International and Gamble-Huff Productions. That lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed sum.
