PRINCE: 21 NIGHTS OVER LONDON
At a special press launch at London's trendy creative/media location The Hospital, Prince announced today (May 8) that he will be performing his greatest hits for the last time with '21 Nights Over London - The Earth Tour'.
Opening on August 1 at The O2 Arena (formerly The London Dome), six subsequent dates have already been confirmed for: August 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 14.
Tickets are set to cost just £31.21 with booking fees capped at £3.50 and P&P per order at £2.50.
It was also announced that his follow-up album to '3121' will be distributed to 'fans' free with their ticket orders - a move seen as innovative and bypassing the usual systems of physical distribution of music.
21 Nights Ove London will be Prince's only concerts in Europe this year and the diminutive showman has not performed at a major UK venue in a decade. The idea of playing in the UK capital came about after a series of recent shows he did in Las Vegas named the '3121 Club'.
Prince kept the announcement short and sweet but mentioned that he was a fan of Amy Winehouse and that his most recent influences have been "the prophets of the Bible". Check out: www.youtube.com/
