B&S COMPETITION: WIN MAVIS STAPLES TICKETS + ALBUMS

Win Mavis Staples tickets and albums Win Mavis Staples tickets and albums

Here’s a competition prize that combines one of our favourite festivals with one of our fave artists, as one lucky winner will get a chance to take a +1 to watch soul royal Mavis Staples in action - as part of the Innervisions Festival - on July 4th at Camden’s Roundhouse in London. If that wasn’t enough, our lucky will also receive a copy of “Mavis Staples Live In London”, recorded at Union Chapel on her 79th birthday. Told you it was a great prize!

Singing her way into soul/gospel/R&B history books as part of the Staple’s Singers, with all-time hits that include "I'll Take You There", "Respect Yourself”, “If You're Ready (Come Go with Me)" and "Let's Do It Again" amongst others. Staples also found herself at the forefront of civil rights at that time, becoming a figurehead for the movement in the 70’s due in part to much of the Staples Singer’s material being rooted in the injustice that was happening in America at that time. So what better way than to celebrate American independents day than watching Mavis Staples on July 4.

If you would like to win a pair of tickets to see Mavis Staples at the Roundhouse on July 4 + a copy of the CD “Mavis Staples Live In London” just answer our artist related question and be the first draw at random at noon on June 21st and you could be off to see Mavis Staples in concert, with exceptional support on the night comes from Stone Foundation.

The Staples Singers comprised of 4 members, 3 women and one man…what was man’s name? We will take full name or known by nickname.

A) Pops
B) Bruv
C) Dave
